BEST VIEWING SPOTS

The swim start

Be at the Rijkerswoerdseplas early for the swim start: an impressive moment of the day. The Full Distance starts at 07:00, De Eigenwijze at 08:50, the Quarter at 09:00 and the Half at 09:45.

The bike course

The athletes ride a 45 km lap. Every athlete comes past at least once. The atmosphere at the start/finish is superb, or pick another spot that appeals to you most. Keep yourself, the athletes and everyone around you safe! And follow the instructions of the organisation.

The transition area

This is where you see participants between the disciplines: from swim to bike and from bike to run. Central on the event site, close to the finish.

The run lap & the finish

The run course goes around the lakes and through Park Lingezegen. Stand at the aid stations on the Kerkstraat and by the car park on the 1e Weteringsewal, and don't miss the finish.

STAND ALONG THE FINISH STRAIGHT.

There's nothing like seeing every athlete come in. Make noise and give that high five. Every finish is a magical moment!

PRACTICAL & TIPS

Plan with the programme

Check the start times and expected finish times so you can cheer your athlete on at exactly the right moments.

Parking & getting there

Car park P1 is right beside the event site at Rijkerswoerdsestraat 4, Elst. It is closed between 08:45 and 16:30; park at P2 (about 500 metres) or P3 (about 1.3 km) instead, both within walking distance. Parking is free. Come in good time, it's busy around the start. Campers report to the separate entrance.

Food & drink

There is a restaurant on site for spectators. For the long day, also bring a chair, sunscreen and/or rainwear.

Cheering tips

Write your athlete's name on a sign, make noise with a horn and stand in recognisable spots. A familiar face on the course gives an enormous boost.

SIGNS THAT STICK IN THE MIND

Nothing gives your athlete a boost like their name on a homemade sign. The bigger, sillier or funnier, the better: cut, paste and shout along. The best signs become legendary (and often end up in the photos).

YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE THEY LOOK FOR.

You wave them off in the morning and you're there again in the evening. They get the medal from a volunteer. The hug they come to you for.
