COOKIE STATEMENT

For anything that isn't strictly necessary to make the site work, we first have to ask for your consent. For us that covers two things: visitor statistics via Google Analytics, and the results we show directly from the timing platform. That's why you see a banner on your first visit.

Declining is just as easy as accepting. As long as you don't choose, nothing happens: the Google Analytics script isn't even fetched. You change or withdraw your choice via 'Cookie preferences' at the bottom of every page, or with the buttons at the top of this page. If you withdraw consent for statistics, measuring stops immediately and we remove the Google Analytics cookies.

What we deliberately don't do: the fonts are on our own server rather than at Google Fonts, and we host the video on the homepage ourselves rather than via YouTube. That way your IP address doesn't go to Google unasked.

If you consent to statistics, we load Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Ltd. It counts which pages are visited, for how long, on what kind of device and how visitors arrive. We use that only to improve the site, for example to see whether participants can find the practical information.

Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. We don't use advertising features, and we keep the measurement data for as short a time as Google Analytics allows. Google may also process data in the United States; how that is arranged is set out in the privacy statement.

Your browser remembers two things for us, and both stay on your own device: they aren't sent anywhere. These aren't cookies but local storage, to which the same rules apply.

The first is the language you choose, so you don't have to switch on every page. The second is your choice from the cookie banner, with the moment you made it, so we don't ask again on every page. In addition, the MyRun photo gallery puts one entry in your session storage as soon as you open that page; it disappears when you close the tab. All three are functional and stay on your device.

On the results page we show the official results directly from the timing platform. Such a window connects to that party as soon as it loads, and that party may then place something on your device. That's why we don't load it unasked.

If you haven't switched on 'external content', you first see a card at the results saying who the provider is and where their privacy policy is. Choose 'load once' and we remember nothing. Choose 'always allow' and we store that, just as when you switch it on in the banner. You can withdraw it on this page or via 'Cookie preferences' at the bottom of every page.

The photo gallery works differently: it loads straight away, because without MyRun's code there is no gallery to show. If you want to avoid that, don't open that page. The rest of the site makes no connection with MyRun.

Two parts come from another party: the results and the photo gallery. For the results you first see a card with a button if you haven't given consent. The gallery does load straight away, because without that code there is no gallery. What those parties place is set out in their own privacy policies.
